New Math Report

Schools have debated the best ways to instruct students in mathematics for decades. With the move to more rigorous standards and the growing acceptance of digital programs, Simba Information initiated research on the use of mathematics instructional materials during the 2015-2016 school year.

K-12 Mathematics Market Report 2016 looks at current trends in the elementary and secondary school mathematics market including what products are used most widely and the selection criteria educators use to help them choose one product over another.

K-12 Mathematics Market Report 2016 is a Simba Information continuation of a publication series originally offered by Education Market Research, an acquired Simba property.

For the report, Simba partnered with MCH Strategic Data on a 10-question survey mailed to 18,000 mathematics educators at their schools in October 2015. Inclusion in a drawing for 10 $100 Amazon gift cards was offered as an incentive to complete the survey.

Results are reported in total and are broken out by school level or compared to prior year results where relevant. Additionally, results were analyzed by job title, grade level, geographic region, and adoption versus non-adoption states to help mathematics product developers and marketers pinpoint their best opportunities.

This report is built around the mail survey and reflects the market condition at a specific point in time. Simba’s own ongoing research provided added context to the analysis and commentary.
