Every Student Succeeds Act

Every Student Succeeds Act

When President Obama on Dec. 10 signed into law the Every Student Succeeds Act, it was only the first in a rapid progression of events that could herald changes in 2016 facing the U.S. public schools and the $8.56 billion instructional materials industry that serves the school market. The president was also expected to sign the federal education spending bill that would increase funds for educational programs, the Education Department released the latest edition of its National Educational Technology Plan and state departments of education are continuing to back away from the Common Core state standards.

Understanding the impact of these and other developments sure to emerge in 2016 is critical for leaders of the instructional materials industry. As Simba Information Kathy Mickey put it, this year is poised to be a “dynamic education market.” And your best way to keep abreast of these changes is to subscribe to Simba’s industry-leading newsletters, Educational Marketer and Electronic Education Report.
