Professional Publishing Report NewsletterAugust 15, 2008, Vol. 12, No. 16Imports, Exports of STP Books Rise in Q1 2008 U.S. exports of scientific, technical and professional books rose 17.3% to $116.3 million in the first quarter of 2008, as many countries bought more published medical and scientific research despite a weaker global economy. For the third year in a row, Canada is on pace to be the largest importer of U.S. STP books, up 22.3% to $43.8 million in book sales. Canada is still followed by the U.K., but the U.K. drastically reduced the dollar amount of its imports to $19.3 million in the first three months of 2008, a 20% drop.
