Based on information found in its Trends in Trade Book Retailing 2009 report, Simba Information Trade Books senior analyst Michael Norris was quoted in multiple articles last week on the pricing war between Amazon and Walmart for upcoming hardcover online releases. “It's sort of like Godzilla versus Mothra,” Norris said of Walmart and Amazon facing off. “It's kind of exciting to see them fighting, but you also know it's probably going to ruin the city.” - San Diego Tribune, 10/18/09 "The suddenness of [Bezos'] reaction tells me that Walmart spooked him," said Norris in the New York Post. "They can't bring (prices) that low.
